Anzac Day 2023 on April 25 which is the New Zealand Memorial day. Very proud of Dani who was one of two students from her school selected to read a prayer during the ceremony.
A prayer of thanksgiving for the sacrifice of all who have served and
for their families.
for their families.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today we come before you to celebrate the fact that
most of us have never known war. This is because many brave men and
women that we will never know - and who didn’t know us - gave up their
young days and youthful dreams, so that we could have ours in peace.

women that we will never know - and who didn’t know us - gave up their
young days and youthful dreams, so that we could have ours in peace.
We thank you God for them and for those who still bear the scars of having
fought beside them. With their sacrifice they bought our freedom.
fought beside them. With their sacrifice they bought our freedom.
Help us to decide never to waste their gift, but rather to use the strength of
our youth and the freedom we have been gifted to prepare our hearts and
our habits so that we might prove worthy of their sacrifice. And, should that
dreadful need overtake us one day, we pray that we will be willing to make
the same sacrifice that they made for us.
Today we promise to remember them and to tell their story so that we
always keep safe the treasure of their sacrifice.
God, please help us to do this we pray. Amen.
