New House Devonport Auckland

We have been in Auckland for a little over a month now and settled into Devonport which is a great community.  Our two bedroom apartment sits next to the Victoria Mountain (old volcano).

Our house is the brick building you can see below Dani and this is a porch deck that we can walk up to with a view of the city.

Dani doing a Maori song

and a song she made up

View of the city with the cruise ships.  Every day I take the 12 minute ferry ride across to go to work

Fireworks one night.  We had a great view

Dani with her new friend and classmate Evelyn.  She lives around the corner from us and moved to NZ in October from Glenn Ridge, NJ.  The mother is Kiwi and the father from Long Island.

Play date with four friends that came over one Sunday. Evelyn, Olive and Jemima

Having so much fun. They are all in the same class and two of the girls are cousins

Playing tag in front of Evelyn's house.  She has two brothers and a sister

Home Made Ice Cream

We have a large garage which Grace has done a great job setting up as a play area for Dani.  We can keep our car outside and have put the extra bed and couch in the garage.

Pizza in the garage

Dani started taking a Acrobatic Dance class and a Musical Theater Dance class

A cinema down the street from our house that plays art films and first runs.  Ice cream after she practiced learning to bike.  Getting there

Grace set up a tent play area for Dani in our backyard

Playing with Eshra a little boy who comes over with his little sister most weekends to visit his granddad John (American) who lives next door to us.  Dani has a great time playing with them.  She is really a big sister

The view up Victoria Road in Devonport.  We live on the left side of the mountain.  Lots of tourists come over which keep shops and restaurants busy.  They climb to the top of the little mountain for the view

The Devonport Library which is pretty new and really nice.

View down the street toward the Ferry terminal.  The library is to the left

Old tree outside the library

Devonport Beach

This is the Devonport Waterfront there was some type of a sailing competition taking place on a Sunday

Cheltenham Beach.  A five minute bike ride from the house.  The water is 71 degrees today so not bad for swimming.
