Kapati Coast

This weekend we rented a car and drove about 40 miles north up to the beach coast town of Raumati.  Beautiful beach and little town.  My boss who is the Associate Dean lives in the town and we met his family for lunch.   Really a great day.  We drove up there to buy a used trailer bike for Dani

Across from the mainland is Kapati island which is a nature preserve where you can go for day hikes.  Will be a nice day trip in the future

You can see the Kiwis in bathing suits in the background and Grace bundled up in her winter coat

My boss's two sons.  They are from the UK and been in Wellington for five years

A playground off the beach

They have a model train that does a 12 minute loop.  The guy in the front is one of the volunteer drivers.  I thought a good job for Dad if you want to come over.

Seems like there may have been a railroad crisis a few months ago!

I think he fell asleep after the 12 minute loop
