Hand, Foot, Mouth Sickness

The day after arriving back from the Philippines, and surviving Typhoon Haiyan,  Dani had a fever and blisters all over her body.  We took her to the emergency room and she was diagnosed with Hand, Foot Mouth (HFM) disease.  It is not usually dangerous but is highly contagious so they checked her into the hospital and she was placed under quarantine.

The hospital did some blood tests, she was put on an IV and given some medication to treat the symptoms. HFM, like chicken poxs, is a virus and it basically just needs to run its course.  Dani had one bad night in the hospital and then recovered quickly.  She was in the hospital for four days. Mom and Dad also came down with the virus a few days later.  Has been a challenging few weeks!

To Stop the Itching
