Last night I was walking the dogs near my house and saw three guys on bicycles who looked lost. I stopped to talk with them and turned out they were Chinese university students who had biked 2000k around China. They had flown into HCMC that afternoon and were heading north riding their bikes to Hue about 1000k away. They were traveling on a low budget mostly tent camping. When I met them they were looking for a place to stake their tent for the night.
I invited them to stay overnight in our apartment. They slept on the floor but said it was better than sleeping out in a tent. I am not even sure where you can set up a tent in HCMC. Not really a camping environment.
Below is a photo this morning before they go started. Their plan was to ride 200k Mui Ne that day. Seemed like a long way interested to hear if they were able to make it.
